50 MHz JT65/JT9 data modes using JT-Alert & WSJT-X

What a good summer this has been with plenty of 50 MHz Sporadic-E throughout June and July 2013.

Recent changes here have included new versions of JT-Alert and WSJT-X software which together allow me to simultaneously monitor and log both 50.276 MHz JT65 and 50.278 MHz JT9 activity.

From 19th July 2013 the old default 50.293 MHz JT9 frequency has changed to 50.278 MHz.

Interestingly in the USA there appears to be a tremendous amount of daily JT65A activity on 50.276 MHz and hopefully transatlantic openings via either Sporadic-E, or in the Autumn maybe even F2, should allow for some exciting opportunities for DX.

I have also just upgraded my 50 MHz and 144 MHz antennas from Watson HALOs to PAR OmniAngles OA-50 & OA-144. Results have been very encouraging.

I had a small JT65A pileup yesterday on 50.276 MHz with DK6SQ, DC6MY, DC8TS, I4EAT & F1ABL
